Two Shall Become One
Our “accidental courtship” is so named because we did not believe in dating. But Brad also didn’t think he was to get married, so our “courtship” snuck – well, maybe that's sneaked - up on us, so to speak. We hung out at church functions and would go eat dinner together many times. We went on some drives together and talked on the phone a lot. Jennifer thought she just had another crush, and Brad thought, “Uh-oh, I can’t live without her!” So through many trials and tribulations, which we won’t get into, it became clear that we were to be married. Jennifer had gone back to California for her mission work and was only gone about two months and Brad could not stand it any longer. He used the money from the sale of his boat to buy a ring and a plane ticket and flew to Long Beach to propose on Seal Beach Pier and bring her back to Texas. On August 28, 1999, we were united in marriage at First Baptist Church Chapel in Beaumont, Texas. Our wedding, of course in our opinion, was one of the best we’ve ever attended. We have been VERY HAPPILY married for these years and are excited to see where God will take us from here.
